Skull Damask

 This is a pattern I am working on.
one way it is a skull, the other way it is an angel.
I think the skull needs to be a little more obscure though.
we'll see what it's like once I finally have it as a vector file.

once I have a design that works really strong, I'll do a wood block cut and print. 

I guess M.C.Escher has inspired me.

Skull Damask Pattern

This Damask attempt is so so. I'll be tweeking this one to get a better skull shape, and to increase the flow of the organic elements.

Concept for a Car

this is some photoshop fun to show something that I would like to build someday. And make it Electric.

My gas masked character in a damask pattern. when I am done I hope it tiles well. if it work's I will try it again with the gas-masked woman. Then make the simplified versions available for person's free wallpaper tiles to download.

Carriage Composition

This is the rough sketch for a future painting. I might change the man with the briefcase with man on the right. i worry that might change the perception of the relationship between the two. I don't want them to be perceived as being close emotionally.

...Yes, the group has come and gone and it was only a day but what a day?! We were very pleased with the way the day went. There has been a lot of positive talk about the success of the day. I believe that the evaluation team were quite pleased with the Canada Games Plaza concept and we were able to share the illustrations with them in a couple different ways. I must also say that the rest of our committee members who had not seen the illustrations before were very happy with them. It was a very good representation of our vision.
I did not receive any negative feedback. I was very happy with the way we approached the project and I really felt that you captured appropriately our vision. I like the way you started with the rough concepts and how you met with me to discuss what we wanted to add to the illustrations. Thank you for taking the time that you did to carefully understand and ultimately portray the product in an amazing and talented way.

These is are concept illustrations I did for the city of Prince George. They were putting in a bid for the canada games, and this is one of the many many thing that was done for that bid. *Note, They won the bid, and will be hosting the Canada Winter games in 2015.

Red Pixxie-50% digital - 50% done

a little further along by quest to learn drawing on the computer.

What I have learned: it's not for me. I back tracked on this composition, after creating a good position for the character, I printed it, then I drew it by hand. this was coloured on the computer, but Inked by hand. when it's all said and done, I expect to have pulled it into illustrator to create a background as well.

The composition needs her wings, and any type added in, plus a boarder.

a little of everything. I guess that's been the common them in my work for a long time.

Character Concept for a story line I am working on.

this character's working name is "Power"

this Character is supposed to be hundreds of years old. at the end of the line, now -ish, he would look like this, and is somewhat trapped in his armour.

Gas - Masked 'M'

While watching a James Bond Movie, I came up with this character concept based upon M.
I think it would fit in with my gas-masked series. but I don't know if I will use it.

Here is a concept character for a comic strip, simular to toy story, only with a more adult nature.

tin toy concept

This is a concept based on some wind-up tin toys I found on the web.
The idea being to repaint it in a one-Armed Bandit Style. Mostly black and white, with a little of one colour. the colour being changeble to create variable editions.
Once I get my hands on the toy I'll do one up to show here.

Doll-heads

Here is a couple of sketches I did with my wife's tastes in mind. she is a fan of the painting style where the figures look like dolls. can't remember the artist's name off hand. She did a few of Christina Ricci. They are just sketches. no plan for paintings at this time.
