Gas Masked - From reference

More images using a little influence from photo reference. They are just line drawings now, but I intend on colouring them soon. Feedback is encouraged. Thanks all -M

The gas masked woman.  The reference used was mostly for the jacket style. I don't see the character as much for wearing dresses.

The Gas Masked Man in a chair. I intend on spending a lot of time putting color into this one, make it a good portfolio piece. I'm not sure what i will use for text or caption, so an suggestions are welcome.

Of late I have been drawing people off of the Television. not really to get the individual, but to get the poses. I don't have a lot of opportunity to draw from life, so TV is the next best thing. Here are a few of the items I came up with. feedback please.

Contest Entry

I found a contest online: use the reference provided, and make a female version of a male character (comic book). I thought it would be good practice, so I entered. Here is what I sent in.

Skull Damask

 This is a pattern I am working on.
one way it is a skull, the other way it is an angel.
I think the skull needs to be a little more obscure though.
we'll see what it's like once I finally have it as a vector file.

once I have a design that works really strong, I'll do a wood block cut and print. 

I guess M.C.Escher has inspired me.

Skull Damask Pattern

This Damask attempt is so so. I'll be tweeking this one to get a better skull shape, and to increase the flow of the organic elements.

Gas Masked Damask

My gas masked character in a damask pattern. when I am done I hope it tiles well. if it work's I will try it again with the gas-masked woman. Then make the simplified versions available for person's free wallpaper tiles to download.

Carriage Composition

This is the rough sketch for a future painting. I might change the man with the briefcase with man on the right. i worry that might change the perception of the relationship between the two. I don't want them to be perceived as being close emotionally.

Here is a couple of sketches I did with my wife's tastes in mind. she is a fan of the painting style where the figures look like dolls. can't remember the artist's name off hand. She did a few of Christina Ricci. They are just sketches. no plan for paintings at this time.

Design for a giant character.

When I did a childrens book in 2006, I needed to design the characters. one was a Giant.
